The Landslide Disaster Protection Project of the National Road Network in Kandy, Sri Lanka aims to mitigate the risk of landslide disasters along the road network through the implementation of appropriate countermeasures in the highland areas. OIDCI fielded a Senior Environmental Specialist for the project.

The Specialist’s assignment covered resettlement and monitoring. Apart from impact mitigation during the construction stage of the road network, the Specialist also prepared a resettlement action plan and implemented the environmental monitoring plan of the project.
