THIRD BATCH OF ATSP'S MATCHED WITH WATER UTILITIES

The third Joint Water Utility–ATSP Workshop was held in October 2014 in Cebu City. The workshop was attended by 32 water utilities coming from Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Leyte. Most of them committed to avail of the services of the accredited technical service providers (ATSP). ATSP services include the formulation of business plans, the preparation of performance improvement plans, the formulation of tariff proposals, and even the preparation of project proposals to lending institutions. The deployment of these ATSPs to the water utilities is in progress and is being assisted by OIDCI.

During this event, a dialogue was held among the water utilities, the National Water Resources Board, the Cooperative Development Authority, and the National Confederation of Cooperatives, represented by its party list representative, to discuss key issues of water cooperatives such as tariffs, permits and decentralization.In August 2014, the third ATSP Training Workshop was also held in Cebu City where 21 out of 24 trained TSPs were accredited.
