Database Management and GIS training for Bohol province completed
OIDCI completed on October 5 the five-month
training program on Database Management and
GIS for the Bohol Provincial Government
under the Philippines-Australia Human
Resources Development Facility (PAHRDF).
The program aimed at developing the basic
institutional capability of selected
participants to manage the development of
computer application systems, support
mechanisms and best practices for subsequent
implementation. Major outputs of the
intervention were the development of the
Human Resource Information System (HRIS),
Financial Management Information System (FMIS)
and Agriculture Database, and the creation
of GIS project applications in the areas of
Agriculture, Infrastructure, poverty
projects of the Province, and Real Property
Tax Information System (RPTIS).
Participants of this training were from the
Office of the Governor, Provincial Planning
and Development Office, Provincial
Assessor’s Office, Provincial Agriculture
Office, Office of the Provincial
Veterinarian, Provincial Treasurer’s Office,
Provincial Accountant’s Office, Human
Resource Management and Development Office,
Provincial Engineer’s Office, and Provincial
Budget and Management Office.
